Kal ke Kabir: An Evening of Folk Music & Philosophy

पोथी पढ़ पढ़ जग मुआ, पंडित भयो न कोए,ढाई आखर प्रेम का, पढ़े सो पंडित होय।Reading books endlessly, the world grew tired, yet none became truly wise. One who understands the two-and-a-half letters of 'Love' is the only true scholar.Experience the timeless wisdom of Kabir through the voice of Padma Shri Prahlad Singh Tipaniya.Pune has long been a sanctuary for arts, literature, and deep spiritual inquiry. In a city that cherishes the Bhakti and Abhang traditions, H3LF & Lalit Kala Kendra (LKK) are honored to bring the earthy, soul-stirring resonance of the Malwi folk tradition to our cultural capital.Join us for "Kal ke Kabir," a captivating live performance by legendary folk singer Padma Shri Prahlad Singh Tipaniya and his troupe. A performance by Prahladji is often described as a Satsang (a gathering of truth). He doesn't just sing; he pauses to lovingly explain the deep, often radical meaning behind Kabir's verses in simple, everyday Hindi. For decades, Prahladji has been instrumental in taking the mystic poetry of Kabir out of academic texts and returning it to the people. Armed with a tambura and kartal, he sings Kabir's verses with a sahaj (natural) and saral (simple) energy that transcends language barriers. His performances are not just concerts; they are immersive dialogues on love, equality, and the breaking down of societal labels.Whether you are a lover of Indian classical and folk traditions, a seeker of philosophy, or simply looking for an evening of profound musical storytelling, this event promises to move your heart and awaken your mind.About the OrganizersThis event is jointly hosted by the Head, Heart, Hands Learning Foundation (H3LF) and Lalit Kala Kendra (LKK). Located in Pune, H3LF is a Waldorf-inspired learning village dedicated to holistic education. We believe that true education—much like Kabir's poetry—must engage the intellect (Head), nurture empathy (Heart), and empower real-world action (Hands).(All proceeds from this event support the non-profit educational initiatives and community workshops ).
